Burleigh Leonard, Board Member

Burleigh C.W. Leonard spent forty years in Washington, DC, as a congressional staffer, White House aide and lobbyist for food and agriculture clients.  He retired in 2018 and moved to Ennis with his wife, Jaime Henderson Leonard, who is the rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Jeffers and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Virginia City.  The Leonards have spent summers in the Madison Valley since 2002 and feel blessed to be able to live in Ennis on a permanent basis.

Burleigh is a native of Missouri.  He graduated from Princeton University with a BA in English.  He did post-graduate study in English Literature at Mansfield College, Oxford University, England and holds a JD degree from the Washington College of Law at American University. Burleigh is an active member of the congregations at Trinity and St. Paul’s churches.  He enjoys writing and has published a volume of poetry entitled Way Out West which was inspired by his experiences in the Madison Valley.
