Avoid becoming 1 of 890!
As most of us may be aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In 2019, The American Cancer Society has estimated that over 890 women were newly diagnosed with breast cancer in the state of Montana. Montana women are ranked at 47th in the nation for receiving screening mammograms. With a state average of 66.5%, we lag behind the national average at 72.4% screened.
Mammograms are an important screening tool that our providers use to detect breast cancer. While monthly self-breast exams are important, the CDC notes that mammograms are able to detect breast cancer up to three years before it can be felt!
Madison Valley Medical Center is pleased to provide Ennis-area residents with a private, relaxed experience in our permanent mammography suite.
