Karen McMullin MVMC Board Representative

Karen is a recently retired attorney who had her own law practice just north of Ennis for twenty-seven years. She and her husband, Paul, have lived in the Madison Valley for forty-one years and raised four children here. Karen graduated from the University of San Diego, School of Law in 1978, took the California Bar Exam, and was admitted to the practice law in California.

When Karen and Paul moved to Montana in 1980, Karen stayed home with the children for a few years. In 1989 she took the Montana Bar Exam and was admitted to the practice of law. She began serving as a substitute Justice of the Peace prior to setting up her own law practice.

Karen served as The Ennis City Attorney from 1995-1997. She received the Pro Bono Award for the State of Montana from the Montana Bar Association in 2000. Karen was a nominee for the Child Advocate of the Year in 2002. She served as The Ennis City Judge and The Madison County Justice of the Peace as a substitute, and interim judge throughout her career.

Karen was involved at the inception of Montana's Court Appointed Special Advocate Program (CASA), the Fifth Judicial District's "Voice for Children", and served as President of the Board of Directors for twelve years.

Karen retired from the practice of law in 2021, and enjoys spending time with her eight grandchildren, traveling, and writing.
